TDA Project Administrator arrested for disproportionate assets

Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today) Jan 31: Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested Biswadarsi Sahoo, the Project Administrator of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) in Bonai, Sundargarh district, on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Acting on specific information, vigilance teams conducted simultaneous raids at seven locations linked to Sahoo on Thursday. The raids led to the discovery of multiple properties, substantial bank deposits, and other valuable assets that the accused allegedly failed to account for satisfactorily.
According to an official release, the unearthed assets include a double-storey house in Bhubaneswar, two flats—one of which was under construction with an advance payment of ₹1.50 crore—a total of nine high-value plots in Bhubaneswar (7) and Puri (2), ₹4.05 lakh in cash, bank and insurance deposits worth over ₹61.42 lakh, and 150 grams of gold jewelry. Additionally, officials seized a Tiago car and four two-wheelers.
The vigilance department has registered a case against Sahoo, and further investigations are underway to ascertain if more individuals were involved in the alleged corruption.
