Swachhata Hi Seva 2025: Dharmendra Pradhan Launches Cleanliness Drive in Sambalpur
Sambalpur, September 14: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the “Swachhata Hi Seva – 2025” campaign in Sambalpur with a call to celebrate cleanliness as a festival.
Speaking at the launch event organised by Sambalpur Municipal Corporation, Pradhan emphasised that cleanliness should be embraced with joy and enthusiasm, especially during the upcoming festive season.
The minister honoured local sanitation workers and volunteers, acknowledging their tireless efforts in keeping the city clean.
He urged citizens to make cleanliness a permanent part of their lives and pledged to transform Sambalpur into a model clean and green city.
The campaign coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and the nationwide “Seva Pakhwada” initiative.
Pradhan highlighted Sambalpur’s improved performance in cleanliness surveys and stressed that maintaining hygiene is not just the responsibility of officials but a cultural value that must be adopted by every citizen.
A signature drive and public pledge ceremony were held to reinforce community participation. Odisha’s Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Ravi Nayak also attended the event, lending support to the initiative.
