Sunny Deol’s Border 2 Roars at the Box Office with Rs 32.10 Cr Day One Collection

Bollywood superstar Sunny Deol has once again ignited patriotic fervour with the release of Border 2.

The film, directed by Anurag Singh and produced by T-Series and J P Films, opened nationwide on January 23, 2026, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend.

The war drama, revisiting the 1971 India–Pakistan conflict, registered a phenomenal Rs 32.10 crore net collection on its opening day, making it one of the biggest recent Bollywood debuts.

The film’s strong performance reflects both Sunny Deol’s enduring appeal and the audience’s appetite for patriotic narratives during national celebrations.

Featuring an ensemble cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana, Border 2 blends high‑octane action with emotional storytelling.

However, the film faced setbacks internationally, being banned in six Gulf nations—Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE—due to its alleged anti‑Pakistan narrative.

Despite the restrictions abroad, the film’s domestic success has been hailed as “colossal” by producers, who believe the patriotic theme will continue to drive strong collections throughout the Republic Day weekend.
