Sundargarh Police Seize Ganja Worth ₹30 Lakh, Two Arrested in Inter-State Smuggling Racket

Sundargarh police achieved a major breakthrough in their fight against narcotics trafficking by seizing ganja valued at nearly Rs 30 lakh.

Acting on intelligence inputs, a police team intercepted a truck travelling from Sambalpur through Rourkela en route to Punjab.

During the operation, officers discovered large quantities of contraband concealed inside the vehicle.

Two individuals linked to an inter-state smuggling racket were arrested on the spot. The truck used for transportation has also been seized.

The raid was carried out under the directive of the Sundargarh Superintendent of Police, who emphasised the department’s commitment to dismantling organised drug networks.

Investigations are ongoing to identify other members of the racket and trace the wider supply chain.

Authorities reiterated their determination to curb narcotics trafficking in the region, highlighting the importance of coordinated action against the illegal drug trade.
