Sudarsan Pattnaik Marks Historic Ratna Bhandar Inventory With Sand Art
Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has paid tribute to Lord Jagannath as the historic Ratna Bhandar inventory commenced at Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.
Sharing his creation on social media, Pattnaik expressed gratitude for witnessing this sacred moment after 48 years.
The Ratna Bhandar, the temple’s treasure chamber, is being inventoried to document and verify priceless ornaments, including gold, silver, and gems belonging to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.
The process is being carried out under tight security and strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Authorised servitors and officials entered the chamber between 12:09 pm and 1:45 pm to conduct the inventory.
Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, appealed for public cooperation during this historic exercise, emphasising its cultural and spiritual significance.
