Sudarsan Pattnaik Creates Lord Jagannath Sand Sculpture at Puri Beach to Welcome New Year 2026
Bhubaneswar, Jan 1, 2026: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik ushered in the New Year with a breathtaking sand sculpture of Lord Jagannath at Puri’s Blue Flag Beach.
The massive artwork, adorned with vibrant flowers, drew crowds of tourists and devotees who gathered to witness the divine creation on the sacred shores of Mahodadhi.
Sharing his work on social media, Pattnaik wrote: “Jai Jagannath. The first sunrise of 2026 over the sacred shores of Mahodadhi, Puri beach. A divine beginning in the holy land of Maha Prabhu Jagannath.”
The installation not only celebrated the dawn of a new year but also highlighted Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, blending spirituality, artistry, and tourism.
Visitors to Puri Jagannath Dham were offered a unique opportunity to take darshan of Mahaprabhu Jagannath in this artistic form, making the occasion even more memorable.
