Subhadra Yojana Update: 6.23 Lakh Applications Pending in Odisha Assembly Report
The Odisha Legislative Assembly was briefed on the progress of the Subhadra Yojana, a flagship welfare scheme aimed at empowering women through direct financial assistance.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida revealed that 6.23 lakh applications remain pending, raising concerns among legislators about the pace of implementation.
According to official figures, 1.37 crore beneficiaries have received the first instalment, followed by 1.19 crore beneficiaries for the second instalment, and 97.65 lakh beneficiaries for the third instalment.
While the scheme has already reached millions of women across the state, questions were raised about delays in clearing pending applications.
Parida assured the Assembly that the government is streamlining verification and distribution mechanisms to accelerate the process.
She emphasised that the scheme continues to strengthen household stability and promote women’s participation in economic activities.
Legislators, however, urged the government to act swiftly to ensure the timely delivery of benefits, highlighting the importance of the scheme in improving financial security for women across Odisha.
