Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will disburse the fourth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that over 1.2 crore women beneficiaries will receive Rs 5,000 each directly into their bank accounts, amounting to a total transfer of Rs 5,000 crore.

Out of 1,12,57,667 applicants, 1,02,12,665 women have been confirmed as beneficiaries. Additionally, 2,13,198 new applicants and 36,385 women who filed grievances on the portal will also be included in this round.

The distribution event will be held at Talabania, Puri, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The scheme’s beneficiary list remains dynamic, with women turning 21 years added and those crossing 60 years shifted to the pension scheme.

Launched in September 2024 by the BJP-led Odisha government, the Subhadra Yojana provides Rs 10,000 annually to women aged 21–60, split into two instalments of Rs 5,000 each.

The initiative aims to empower women financially and ensure direct benefit transfers without middlemen.
