Subhadra Yojana 2025: Odisha Reopens Women’s Welfare Scheme with Online Application Access
The Odisha government has officially reopened applications for its flagship women’s empowerment initiative — Subhadra Yojana 2025.
Spearheaded by the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department, the scheme offers direct financial assistance to eligible women across the state, aiming to boost economic independence and inclusive development.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that women aged between 21 and 60 years can now apply through the official Subhadra Yojana portal.
Those turning 21 soon may also begin the process, with enrollment confirmed upon reaching the eligible age. However, applicants from districts under the Model Code of Conduct are temporarily excluded.
To ensure fair distribution, the government has introduced strict exclusion criteria. Women students receiving Rs 18,000 or more annually from scholarships or other welfare schemes will not qualify for Subhadra Yojana benefits.
This measure prevents duplication and prioritises those in genuine need.
The WCD Department, in collaboration with the Higher Education and SC/ST/Minorities Departments, has initiated a robust data verification process. Records from FY 2023–24 and 2024–25 are being cross-checked to maintain transparency and accuracy.
Applicants must submit their forms online, uploading necessary documents and verifying personal details. Authorities emphasise the importance of accuracy, as each submission undergoes digital cross-verification.
The second instalment of benefits is scheduled for release on March 8, 2026 — International Women’s Day — reinforcing the state’s commitment to gender equity and empowerment.
