Subhadra Portal to Reopen After August 9; Govt Orders Fresh Survey to Reinclude 2 Lakh Women

Bhubaneswar(OT Webdesk): The Odisha government has announced that the Subhadra Portal will reopen after August 9, following the disbursement of the third instalment under the women’s welfare scheme.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida confirmed that a fresh verification survey will be launched to reinclude nearly 2 lakh women who were previously excluded due to eligibility constraints.

Women aged 21 and above will be eligible to apply once the portal reopens. However, those who own vehicles, possess more than five acres of land, or have filed income tax returns will remain ineligible.

In a significant move, the government has already forwarded a list of 93,000 senior beneficiaries—women aged above 60—to the Social Security Department. These individuals will not need to reapply, ensuring uninterrupted benefits.

“We are committed to a fair and inclusive verification drive that ensures deserving women are brought back into the fold,” Parida stated.

The Subhadra Scheme has emerged as a cornerstone of Odisha’s push for women’s financial empowerment and socio-economic inclusion, attracting thousands of applicants across the state.
