Bhubaneswar, June 6, ( OT Webdesk)– The Special Task Force (STF) has intensified its crackdown on counterfeit cosmetic products, raiding six shops in the bustling Unit-1 Market.
This move comes after rising concerns over fake cosmetics being sold under the names of reputed brands.
During the raid, STF officials seized samples of shampoos, creams, lotions, body washes, and soaps, suspecting them to be counterfeit.
These samples have been sent to the Central Drugs Testing Laboratory (CDTL) in Chennai for verification.
Authorities have issued a stern warning to consumers, urging them to be cautious when purchasing cosmetic products and to verify their authenticity.
If test results confirm that the seized items are fake, legal action will be taken against the shopkeepers involved.
This operation marks the beginning of a broader effort by the STF to dismantle illegal cosmetic trade networks.
Officials have stated that similar raids will soon be conducted in other areas of the city.
Consumers are advised to buy cosmetics only from trusted stores and to report suspicious products to local authorities.
