State-Level Gotipua Dance Festival 2025 Set to Enchant Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, August 28: Odisha’s cultural heartbeat will echo through the Utkal Rangamanch as the State-Level Gotipua Dance Festival 2025 kicks off from August 30 to September 1.

Organised by the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre in collaboration with Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy and Lokakala Sangha, the festival promises a vibrant celebration of tradition, artistry, and heritage.

Over 20 dance troupes will perform the iconic Gotipua dance—a precursor to Odissi and a cornerstone of Odisha’s classical legacy.

The festival will also host insightful discussions on the music, instruments, evolution, and costume traditions of Gotipua, offering a deep dive into its historical and artistic significance.

Adding to the cultural immersion, rare archival footage of Gotipua performances from ancient temples and monasteries will be screened, curated by the Odissi Research Centre.

The event will bring together dancers, gurus, scholars, and enthusiasts, creating a dynamic platform for preservation and exchange.

As Bhubaneswar gears up for this three-day spectacle, the Gotipua Dance Festival stands as a testament to Odisha’s enduring commitment to its artistic roots.
