Sri Jagannath Temple introduces breastfeeding facility for devotee mothers
Puri, Sep 2 (UNI) The Sri Jagannath Temple administration has set up a dedicated breastfeeding facility inside the Srimandir for mothers visiting the temple with infants.
Temple Chief Administrator Arabind Padhee said many mothers carrying their babies often felt uncomfortable breastfeeding amid the crowd during darshan.
Responding to this need, the temple body had earlier passed a resolution to create such a facility
for devotees.
The newly commissioned air-conditioned unit, located within the temple premises, can accommodate up to four mothers at a time.
To ensure proper care, two women staff members from the Jagannath Temple Security have been appointed to manage the facility.
Padhee further informed that another similar unit is planned along the Parikrama corridor of the temple, where doctors will also be available to provide assistance if required.
