Special Darshan Protocols Rolled Out at Puri Srimandir for Panchuka Devotees
PURI: In anticipation of heightened pilgrim footfall during the sacred Panchuka period, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has announced a series of special darshan arrangements to ensure a smooth and spiritually enriching experience for devotees.
A review meeting chaired by the Puri District Collector finalised the crowd management blueprint. Entry will be restricted to the Singhadwara (Lion Gate), while the remaining three gates will serve exclusively as exit points.
To streamline movement, 11 barricaded lanes will be installed within the temple premises.
On Anla Navami, darshan of the revered Radhapada will begin at 5 AM and continue late into the night, drawing thousands of devotees.
Special attention has been given to elderly women observing Kartika rituals, known as Habisyalis. A dedicated corridor will guide them safely to the sanctum, supported by volunteers and Jagannath Temple Police (JTP).
Help centres will be operational at all four gates, offering assistance to the elderly, persons with disabilities, and those with health concerns. Drinking water stations will be strategically placed to meet the needs of pilgrims.
These arrangements underscore the temple administration’s commitment to discipline, safety, and spiritual fulfilment during one of the most auspicious periods in the Hindu calendar.
