Shrachi Bengal Tigers Stage Stunning Comeback to Defeat SG Pipers 3–2
Bhubaneswar: In a thrilling Men’s Hero Hockey India League encounter at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium, Shrachi Bengal Tigers pulled off a remarkable comeback to edge past SG Pipers 3–2, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
The Pipers looked dominant early, with Dilraj Singh striking in the 4th minute and Tomas Domene doubling the lead in the 31st through a penalty corner. However, the Tigers roared back in the final quarter.
Jugraj Singh converted a penalty corner in the 45th minute, followed almost immediately by Abhishek’s powerful equaliser.
Just three minutes later, Affan Yousuf sealed the turnaround with a decisive breakaway goal.
Despite Pawan’s heroics in goal for the Pipers, the relentless attacking surge from the Tigers proved unstoppable. The victory not only showcased Bengal Tigers’ resilience but also reignited their campaign for a top‑four finish in the league.
