Seven Foot Crocodile rescued from village pond in Kendrapara

Kendrapara, Oct 11 (UNI) Forest officials of Bhitarkanika National Park today rescued a seven-foot-long estuarine (saltwater) crocodile from a village pond at Dattapur under Suniti Gram Panchayat in the Mahakalapada Forest Range.
According to officials, the crocodile had strayed into the pond from the nearby Gobari River.

Acting on information from local villagers, who spotted the reptile on the road early in the morning, a team from the Jagatjora forest rushed to the spot.

The forest personnel captured the crocodile using fishing nets and later released it safely into the Bhitarkanika National Park.
