Security forces raid Maoist hideout in Odisha, retrieve explosive materials

Bhubaneswar, Nov 2: Police in Odisha’s Nuapada district have dismantled a Maoist camp in a forested area, recovering a significant cache of explosive materials. A senior officer reported that the operation stemmed from a tip-off regarding the movement of CPI (Maoist) cadres.
On the night of October 30, special operation groups (SOG) launched a search-and-destroy mission in the Patdhara and Sunabeda reserve forests. Following their efforts, on November 1, an SOG Assault team identified a suspected Maoist camp linked to the DGN divisional committee of the CPI (Maoist), located in a dense forest near Bhainsamundi (Bahadurpani) village.
During the raid, officers discovered an alarming amount of explosive materials, including 500 detonators, five reels of safety fuse, five improvised IED switches, one decomposed gelatin stick, and various Naxalite literature. This evidence suggests the site was a temporary hideout for Maoist operatives.
In response to the find, authorities have deployed an additional SOG team to further intensify the search operation in the area.
