Raipur, May 23, ( OT Webdesk): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy CM Vijay Sharma paid tribute to fallen soldier Mehul Solanki, a CoBRA battalion constable, who lost his life during an intense encounter with Naxal insurgents in Narayanpur’s Abujhmad forest on May 21.

The encounter was part of an extensive anti-Naxal operation led by security forces, resulting in the elimination of 27 Naxals, including top leader Basavaraju.

Officials confirmed that the mission aimed to curb insurgent activities and restore stability in the region.

Amid ongoing operations, another encounter unfolded today in Sukma district’s Kistaram area, where one more Naxal was neutralised. Authorities continue to strengthen counterinsurgency efforts to rid the region of extremist threats.

Beyond security updates, nationwide developments include growing concerns over COVID-19, with Gujarat and Kerala reporting a rise in infections.

Political shifts have also dominated headlines, with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi facing criticism over recent actions.

The sacrifices of security personnel like Solanki stand as a testament to their unwavering dedication to national security.
