Security Forces Bust Maoist Camp Near Nuapada Border, Seize Explosives and Weapons

In a decisive counter-insurgency operation, Chhattisgarh police dismantled a Maoist camp nestled in the Gobra hills near the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border.

Acting on precise intelligence, the combing operation was launched under Menpur police limits in Gariaband district, targeting the Gariaband-Dhamtari-Nuapada (GDN) division of the Maoist network.

The raid led to the recovery of one improvised explosive device (IED), 57 arrows, Maoist uniforms, literature, and a single-shot barrel weapon. Authorities suspect the camp was a staging ground for planned attacks on security personnel.

Gariaband Superintendent of Police Nikhil Rakhecha confirmed that Maoists were preparing for an assault, which was thwarted by the timely intervention of the forces.

Search operations are ongoing to ensure the complete neutralisation of the threat in the region.

This operation marks a significant step in curbing Maoist activities along the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, reinforcing the commitment of security forces to maintain peace and safety in the region.
