Cuttack: A devastating fire at SCB Medical College and Hospital late Sunday night claimed ten lives and left several others injured, sparking grief across Odisha.

Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, extending condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the injured.

Patnaik urged the state government to ensure the best possible medical care for those affected.

He announced plans to personally visit the hospital and directed the Mayor of Cuttack and the Tangi‑Choudwar MLA to reach the site immediately to assist victims and their families.

In a social media post, Patnaik emphasised both mourning for the victims and hope for the swift recovery of the injured, underscoring the need for accountability and urgent relief measures.
