Bhubaneswar, Nov 25: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the Samruddha Odisha 2036 Conclave organised by the Utkal Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UCCIL), outlining an ambitious roadmap to transform Odisha’s economy.

Majhi declared that a “true industrial revolution” has begun in the state, with plans to expand the economy from its current USD 120 billion to USD 500 billion by 2036. He highlighted investments worth Rs 2 lakh crore, foundations laid for 84 industries, and the creation of over 1.64 lakh jobs.

The CM emphasised upcoming projects from Vedanta, Adani, JSW, Indian Oil, and Zoho Group, alongside new investments in textiles and green energy.

Infrastructure upgrades in roads, railways, ports, and airports will support this growth, while the Capital Region Ring Road project will expand the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar twin city.

Majhi also announced plans to transform Bhubaneswar into a mega tech hub for eastern India, already home to fintech, insurtech, IT majors, and two semiconductor industries.

Industry and Skill Development Minister Sampad Chandra Swain praised the initiatives, noting that youth employment and industrial growth are driving Odisha’s transformation.

The event saw participation from senior officials, UCCIL leaders, and leading industrialists, with the CM unveiling the Samruddha Odisha 2036 souvenir prepared by UCCIL.
