Jaipur, May 25, ( OT Webdesk) – Delhi Capitals (DC) wrapped up their TATA IPL 2025 campaign in style, securing a thrilling six-wicket victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 66 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Young sensation Sameer Rizvi stole the spotlight with a blistering 58-run knock off just 25 balls, steering DC to victory with three balls to spare.

Opting to bowl first, DC made early inroads by dismissing Priyansh Arya in the second over. However, PBKS countered with a strong stand led by Josh Inglis (37) and Prabhsimran Singh (29).

Skipper Shreyas Iyer played a composed innings of 53 off 34 balls, while Marcus Stoinis provided the late fireworks with an unbeaten 44 off 16 balls, pushing PBKS to a formidable 206/8.

DC’s bowling attack, spearheaded by Mustafizur Rahman (3/33), kept Punjab from posting an even bigger total. The spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam claimed two wickets each, maintaining pressure on PBKS.

In reply, DC started cautiously, but Impact Player KL Rahul (22) and Faf du Plessis (14) ensured a steady powerplay. Karun Nair (44 off 27) and Rizvi built a crucial partnership, setting the stage for a dramatic finish.

With 34 needed off the final three overs, Rizvi unleashed an assault, clinching victory with a towering six.

Though Delhi Capitals finished their season with seven wins from 14 matches, Punjab Kings, already assured of a playoff spot, will now focus on securing a Top 2 finish in their final league clash against Mumbai Indians.
