Sadique Alam Takes Charge of Odisha’s Public Enterprises Department

Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer Sadique Alam officially took charge as Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary of the Public Enterprises Department on February 7, 2026.

Upon assuming office, Alam reviewed the department’s mandate, ongoing initiatives, and the performance of State Public Sector Undertakings (SPSUs).

He emphasised strengthening corporate governance in SPSUs through reforms, institutionalised performance reviews, and well‑defined financial growth trajectories.

Alam also highlighted the importance of timely appointments of Independent Directors and Functional Directors to enhance leadership and decision‑making.

Aligning his vision with Odisha’s long‑term development goals under Vision 2036 and Vision 2047, Alam underscored efficiency, transparency, sustainability, and professional management as the core agenda for SPSUs.

His leadership aims to ensure that state enterprises contribute meaningfully to Odisha’s economic growth.
