Rayagada Gears Up for CM Majhi’s Visit, Vedic Yajna and Subhadra Shakti Mela

Rayagada district is set to host Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on February 2, 2026, marking his third official tour since assuming office.

The CM will participate in the concluding rituals of the 108-Kundi Vedic Vishwashanti Maha Yajna at JSCO Ground, Barijhola.

The grand spiritual event, which began on January 31, will conclude with the Purnahuti ceremony, where the Chief Minister will offer prayers for peace and prosperity.

The Yajna is being coordinated by Balakrishna Panda and team, who have overseen arrangements to ensure smooth conduct.

District Collector Ashutosh Kulkarni and senior officials have already inspected the venues to confirm readiness.

Alongside the religious event, Rayagada will also witness the Subhadra Shakti Mela from February 2–8, 2026.

Focused on women’s empowerment, the mela will provide a platform for self-help groups (SHGs) to showcase their enterprises and promote self-reliance.

SHG entrepreneurs from Rayagada and other districts are expected to participate, highlighting grassroots innovation and entrepreneurship.

Sources indicate that the Chief Minister may also inaugurate new projects and announce major initiatives for Rayagada, further boosting development in the region.

The twin events—spiritual and social—are expected to draw large crowds, reinforcing Rayagada’s growing importance in Odisha’s cultural and developmental landscape.
