Rath Yatra 2025

Puri, ( OT Webdesk) – As the grand Rath Yatra 2025 approaches, temple authorities and local administration have finalised security and event planning measures to ensure a smooth and safe celebration.

The festival, known for its majestic chariot procession, will commence on June 27.

Following a previous incident where Lord Balabhadra’s chariot faced structural issues, temple officials have reinforced safety protocols.

Senior officers will inspect the chariot assembly, ensuring proper alignment and fastening of ritualistic ropes (Tyahia) before the deities ascend their respective chariots.

  • June 27: Rath Yatra begins at 9 AM, with the ceremonial Chhera Pahanra at 2:30 PM, and chariot pulling at 4 PM.
  • July 2: Southern turn of the chariot followed by evening rituals.
  • July 5: Bahuda Yatra – the deities’ return journey.
  • July 6: Suna Besha, where the idols are adorned in golden attire.
  • July 8: Niladri Bije, marking the conclusion of the festival.

To manage the overwhelming crowd, authorities will issue special tickets for Snana Purnima, ensuring regulated participation for the sacred bathing ritual.

With thousands of devotees expected, enhanced security measures, crowd control systems, and medical emergency provisions will be implemented to prevent any mishaps.

Officials stress that strict guidelines will be followed throughout the festival to preserve tradition while maintaining order.

The temple administration has assured devotees of a grand and safe Rath Yatra, reinforcing its spiritual significance alongside modern safety enhancements.
