Rain Forecast in Odisha | Relief from Heatwave Expected Until May 1st
Bhubaneswar (Orissa Today): Residents of Odisha can finally breathe a sigh of relief from the scorching heatwave that has gripped the state.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted rain across various districts starting today, continuing until May 1. This shift in weather is expected to bring much-needed respite from record-breaking temperatures.
Districts like Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Ganjam, and others in southern Odisha are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall. However, isolated areas might experience thunderstorms with lightning and winds reaching speeds of 30–40 km/h, prompting the issuance of an orange warning for April 27 and 28.
This welcome change comes after a period of relentless heat, with temperatures soaring to unprecedented levels, particularly in western Odisha. As the state prepares for the anticipated showers, the cooler temperatures are expected to ease daily life significantly.
