Rahul Gandhi’s Odisha Visit Set to Reignite Congress Ahead of Panchayat Polls

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is slated to visit Odisha in November–December 2025, in a strategic push to revive the party’s presence in the state ahead of crucial panchayat elections.

The announcement was made by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Bhakta Charan Das, who emphasised the visit’s focus on addressing electoral malpractices, poverty, and women’s safety.

Gandhi’s itinerary includes roadshows, mass gatherings, and district-level engagements designed to energise grassroots support.

The Congress, which last held power in Odisha in 1995, is banking on Gandhi’s outreach to reclaim political relevance after decades of electoral setbacks.

The party draws inspiration from its 1970s comeback, when it rebounded from fourth place to form the government.

Recent public enthusiasm during Gandhi’s participation in the Constitution Protection Rally in Bhubaneswar has further bolstered hopes of a revival.

Senior leaders believe the visit could be a turning point, injecting momentum into the Odisha Pradesh Congress and reshaping the narrative ahead of local polls.
