Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), May 30: Addressing an election rally in Balasore, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on both the BJD and BJP, alleging a partnership aimed at plundering Odisha’s abundant resources. Urging voters to support Congress to protect the constitution and the interests of Odisha’s people, Rahul emphasized the critical choice facing voters in this election.
Describing the current political landscape as a battle between those seeking to uphold Dr. Ambedkar’s constitution and those seeking to dismantle it, Rahul stressed the importance of safeguarding democratic principles. He recounted his own legal battles and alleged harassment by the BJP, highlighting his commitment to the people despite adversity.
Directing criticism at Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Rahul questioned the absence of similar scrutiny faced by Patnaik despite perceived alliances with the BJP. He accused Patnaik of collaborating with the BJP to exploit Odisha’s resources for personal gain, drawing parallels with the central government’s alleged favoritism towards certain industrialists.
Drawing inspiration from recent political shifts in Telangana, Rahul expressed confidence in Congress’s ability to form the government in Odisha. He cited examples of effective governance and empowerment in Telangana under Congress leadership, promising similar progress in Odisha by dismantling the alleged collusion between the BJP and BJD.
