Rabindra Jena Joins BJP a Day After Quitting BJD
Bhubaneswar, March 11: A day after resigning from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), senior leader and former Balasore MP Rabindra Kumar Jena formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bhubaneswar.
At the BJP state headquarters, Jena was welcomed by State President Manmohan Samal and other senior leaders.
Alongside him, several of his supporters—including Basta block and Balasore Sadar chairpersons—were inducted into the party fold, receiving saffron stoles and bouquets.
Jena had submitted his resignation from the BJD’s primary membership, citing personal reasons.
In his letter to BJD chief Naveen Patnaik, he highlighted his years of service in strengthening the party and working for the people of Balasore district.
His swift move to the BJP confirms speculation that followed his resignation, marking a significant political realignment in Odisha ahead of the upcoming elections.
