Puri Srimandir Introduces Breastfeeding Room for Women Devotees

(OT Webdesk)In a landmark move toward inclusivity and public welfare, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced the establishment of a dedicated breastfeeding room near the iconic Puri Srimandir.

The facility, located adjacent to the temple’s branch office, will offer a safe, private, and hygienic space for lactating mothers to feed their infants during temple visits.

SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee has directed officials to expedite the setup, responding to long-standing appeals from devotees and social activists.

The room will be managed by a designated female staff member to ensure accessibility and smooth operation.

This initiative is expected to benefit thousands of women pilgrims, especially those traveling long distances with young children to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath.

It marks a progressive step in making religious spaces more family-friendly and aligns with broader efforts to enhance public amenities at heritage sites.
