Puri Lifeguards Save Five Tourists from Drowning

Puri, Odisha – A dramatic rescue unfolded at Swargadwar beach when five tourists were swept away by powerful waves in Sector 10.

Acting swiftly, lifeguards on duty plunged into the rough waters and successfully pulled all five to safety.

The tourists, identified as Swati Kanoji, Bhavan Kanoji, Shikha Kanoji, and Khageshwar Kanoji from Chhattisgarh, along with Krishna Kanoji from Maharashtra, received immediate first aid and were declared safe.

The rescue operation was carried out by lifeguards Mahendra Behera, A. Bhagaban, K.D. Behera and P. Tirupati, whose quick response and courage prevented a potential tragedy.

Local authorities praised the team for their vigilance and highlighted the importance of trained rescue squads at tourist hotspots like Puri.

This incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of the sea and the critical role lifeguards play in ensuring visitor safety.
