President’s Visit Sparks Major Traffic Advisory in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack

Bhubaneswar(OT Webdesk)— In anticipation of President Droupadi Murmu’s official visit to Odisha on July 14 and 15, 2025, the Police Commissionerate of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack has announced a comprehensive traffic advisory to ensure public safety and streamline movement across the twin cities.

On July 14, the President will attend the fifth convocation at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

The following day, she will grace Ravenshaw University’s 13th convocation, lay the foundation for Ravenshaw Girls’ High School redevelopment, and present the Kalinga Ratna Award during Adikabi Sarala Das’s birth anniversary celebration.

To accommodate the high-profile itinerary, several key roads will be temporarily closed during specified hours.

Heavy goods vehicles (≥6 wheels) will be banned from 6 AM to 7 PM on both days, with diversion routes via Chandaka Square outlined for affected routes.

Emergency services, including fire, police, and ambulance vehicles, remain exempt from the restrictions. Commuters have been urged to plan ahead and opt for alternate routes.

Police Commissioner Dr. Suresh Dev Datta Singh, IPS, assured citizens that additional security and traffic personnel will be deployed to minimise disruptions.

This high-security visit marks a significant civic mobilisation effort, balancing logistical efficiency with public convenience.
