President’s Medal for Two Odisha Officers, Nine Win Gallantry Awards
New Delhi/Bhubaneswar(OT Webdesk) — On the occasion of Independence Day 2025, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced gallantry and service medals for 1,090 personnel across India.
These awards recognize exceptional courage, distinguished service, and professional dedication in police, fire services, Home Guard, Civil Defence, and correctional services.
Among the recipients, 233 were awarded Gallantry Medals, 99 received the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, and 758 were honoured for Meritorious Service.
Odisha’s Proud Moment
Odisha saw two officers—ASP Ravindra Panda and Commandant Naresh Patel—receive the prestigious President’s Medal. Additionally, nine personnel from the state were awarded Gallantry Medals, including sub-inspectors, constables, commandos, and members of the Odisha Auxiliary Police Force. Eleven others were recognised for meritorious service.
