New Delhi, July 19(OT Webdesk)– President Droupadi Murmu attended the special screening of Shri Jagannath Nka Nabakalebara, an Odia film showcasing the revered Nabakalebara ritual of Lord Jagannath at Puri.
Held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, the event highlighted the spiritual, cultural, and cinematic significance of the film.
Directed by Soubhagyalaxmi Jena, the devotional historical feature brings to life the sacred ceremony involving the renewal of Lord Jagannath’s wooden idols, a practice that symbolises divine rebirth and continuity of tradition.
The cast and creative team were present during the screening, making the occasion a heartfelt celebration of regional cinema and heritage.
President Murmu’s presence lent national recognition to the film’s authentic portrayal of Odisha’s spiritual tapestry. In a post shared by her office on X, she lauded the film’s contribution to preserving centuries-old traditions for future generations.
The movie is set for public release today at 5 PM at Saket DLF Mall, New Delhi, followed by a press conference with the director and producer.
