President Murmu Receives Grand Welcome in Jashipur, Stays Overnight at Similipal

Jashipur, Odisha – President Droupadi Murmu was accorded a rousing reception upon her arrival in Jashipur on Wednesday afternoon.

Touching down at the temporary helipad in Anukulpur playground around 3:30 pm, she was greeted warmly by Forest and Environment Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, MP Navacharan Majhi, senior officials, and enthusiastic BJP workers.

As her motorcade passed through the bustling Jashipur market, students lined the streets waving the national flag and chanting patriotic slogans.

Tribal communities showcased their rich cultural heritage with traditional Changu and Dantha dances, adding vibrancy to the occasion.

The President later proceeded to Similipal Tiger Reserve, where she stayed overnight at Gurugudia Forest Bungalow.

On Thursday, she is scheduled to interact directly with tribal women and youth groups, participate in a welfare programme, and distribute blankets to underprivileged residents before returning to Bhubaneswar.

Her visit highlights both the cultural pride of the region and the government’s commitment to welfare initiatives for marginalized communities.
