President Murmu extends greeting to the nation on Janmashtami
New Delhi Aug 16 (UNI) President Droupadi Murmu today extended greetings to the people of the country on the occasion of Janmashtami and said that everyone should follow the path of righteousness shown by Lord Shri Krishna.
The President said in a post on social media platform X, “Heartfelt greetings on Janmashtami. Lord Shri Krishna has shown the entire humanity the path of following duties according to righteousness while remaining dedicated to the welfare of all beings”.
“On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, let everyone resolve to follow the path shown by Lord Shri Krishna and strengthen society and the nation,” she added. The day marks the birth of lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
People celebrate the festival Janmashtami with fervour and joy and offer fast, eat sendha namak. People worship lord Krishna with fruits, sweets and dress. It marks a great significance in Hindu culture and tradition.
