President Droupadi Murmu’s Historic Odisha Assembly Address: Four-Tier Security Cover in Place
Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: The Commissionerate Police has finalised a four-tier security cover ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s historic visit to Odisha on November 27.
For the first time in India’s history, a sitting President will address a state Legislative Assembly, marking a milestone in democratic tradition.
To ensure safety, 25 platoons of police will be deployed, supported by the President’s Bodyguard (PBG) commandos and specialised units. High alert has been declared at Biju Patnaik Airport, Raj Bhawan, and the Assembly premises.
Five Deputy Commissioner-ranked officers, assisted by ACPs, Inspectors, and additional personnel, will oversee the arrangements.
Traffic police have been tasked with managing flow, while five platoons will line the President’s route. A full rehearsal of the cavalcade is scheduled for November 26, with bomb squads and sniffer dogs conducting security sweeps.
Crowd control and intelligence gathering measures are also in place to ensure the visit proceeds smoothly. The address is expected to be a landmark moment for Odisha’s political and cultural landscape.
