President Droupadi Murmu to Visit Puri on February 3–4
President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to arrive in Puri on February 3, 2026, for a two‑day visit that highlights her deep cultural and spiritual ties to Odisha.
During her stay, she will spend the night in the holy city and participate in several significant rituals.
On February 4, the President will begin her day at 7:00 AM with Pind Daan at Swetaganga, a traditional offering to ancestors.
She will then proceed to the Jagannath Temple between 7:40 AM and 8:20 AM for darshan of Lord Jagannath.
At the temple’s Lion Gate (Sinhadwar), she will be ceremonially welcomed by Gajapati Maharaja and the Chhatisa Niyog Nayak.
The Shrimandir administration will present her with special gifts following the darshan.
To ensure smooth arrangements, public darshan will be temporarily suspended during her visit, with passes issued to temple servitors.
Security and logistics have been reviewed by SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Kumar Padhee in consultation with the Chhatisa Niyog.
President Murmu’s visit is expected to reinforce Odisha’s cultural heritage while drawing national attention to the spiritual significance of Puri.
