President Droupadi Murmu inaugurates Kalinga Atithi Nivas at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, November 27: President Droupadi Murmu today inaugurated the newly built Kalinga Atithi Nivas at Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, marking the start of her two‑day visit to Odisha.

The modern guest facility, designed to host visiting VVIPs, highlights Odisha’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.

Officials noted that the structure blends contemporary amenities with elements of the state’s ancient art and traditions.

Later in the day, President Murmu will create history by becoming the first President of India to address the Odisha Legislative Assembly.

The occasion carries added significance as she hails from Odisha and previously served as a member of the state Assembly.

Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and senior officials welcomed the President upon her arrival at Biju Patnaik International Airport.

Sharing his pride on X, Governor Kambhampati wrote: “Welcoming the Hon’ble President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu ji, to Odisha today was a moment of great pride. I convey my respectful greetings and wish her visit to the state to be purposeful and successful.”

The inauguration and Assembly address together mark a historic chapter in Odisha’s political and cultural landscape.
