Bhubaneswar, July 14(OT Webdesk): President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Bhubaneswar on Monday for a two-day official visit that blends academic excellence and cultural reverence.
Her itinerary began with presiding over the 5th Convocation Ceremony of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where 643 graduates across medical disciplines received their degrees.
The President emphasised the significance of quality healthcare in shaping India’s future.
On Tuesday, she will grace the 13th Convocation of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack, where honorary degrees will be awarded to prominent figures. She will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of the historic Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, reaffirming her commitment to preserving educational heritage.
A highlight of the visit includes participation in the birth anniversary celebrations of Adikabi Sarala Das, a pioneer of Odia literature, where she will confer the Kalinga Ratna Award-2024.
To ensure safety and smooth conduct, security has been significantly tightened with the deployment of 70 police platoons and 300 officers across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
