Pravati Parida Highlights Mission Shakti Women Empowerment at Konark Leadership Summit

Konark, Odisha: On International Women’s Day, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida addressed the Subhadra Shakti Leadership Conference, underscoring women’s growing role in driving social and economic transformation.

Parida highlighted the success of Mission Shakti, which has empowered thousands of women across Odisha to become self‑reliant.

She emphasised the transition of women from Self‑Help Groups (SHGs) to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), positioning them as key contributors to rural economies.

The Deputy CM envisioned creating more “Lakhpati” and “Maha Lakhpati Didis,” women entrepreneurs achieving financial independence and reshaping community development.

The conference brought together 90 Presidents and Secretaries from Women Federations across districts, including Bargarh, Rayagada, Sambalpur, and Koraput.

Sessions focused on leadership development, skill enhancement, start‑up opportunities, and financial empowerment.

Dr Monica Priyadarshini, Director of Mission Shakti, along with senior officials, joined the event, reinforcing the government’s commitment to nurturing women leaders as agents of social change.
