Pradhan Inaugurates ₹3,500 Cr Sambalpur Development Projects, Boosts Farmers & Youth
Sambalpur, Odisha: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated a series of development projects worth Rs 3,500 crore in Sambalpur, marking a major infrastructure push for western Odisha.
The projects include ring roads, overbridges, and expanded corridors aimed at easing connectivity and boosting regional growth.
Pradhan emphasized that the prosperity of farmers is central to Sambalpur’s development, highlighting initiatives in agriculture, dairy, and fisheries.
The OMFED Sambalpur plant will soon produce milk powder, curd, and other dairy products to strengthen market linkages.
Over 31 lakh quintals of paddy have already been procured, with tokens issued for the remaining stock.
Youth empowerment also featured prominently, with loans under the Krishi Udyami scheme and training programs in collaboration with CII to place local youth in hospitality jobs abroad.
Healthcare services received a boost with new ambulance facilities, while high‑yielding cows were distributed under MCL’s CSR initiative.
Pradhan underscored a holistic approach, coordinating agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, and animal husbandry departments to raise incomes and living standards across the district.
