Police Successfully Neutralize Bomb Threat in Rayagada

Odisha police defuse Maoist bombs

Rayagada, Odisha ( OT Webdesk)—Security forces in Rayagada district carried out a successful combing operation, neutralising four improvised explosive devices (IEDS) allegedly planted by Maoist insurgents.

The operation, conducted in the Jagadalpur and Sharadhapur areas, resulted in the recovery of a pressure bomb and three tiffin bombs, each weighing between four to five kilograms.

Authorities initiated the mission after receiving intelligence on suspected Maoist activity in the region

The recovered explosives were safely defused by the CRPF bomb squad, preventing potential threats to security personnel and civilians.

Despite dwindling insurgent presence, Maoists continue to assert their existence through banners and posters. Security forces remain vigilant, intensifying anti-insurgency operations to curb their influence in jungle zones used as hideouts.

The successful operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement to maintaining regional security and preventing extremist activities.
