Police SI Recruitment Scam Mastermind Shankar Nabbed in Cross-Border Raid
In a major breakthrough, the Odisha Crime Branch has arrested Shankar, the alleged mastermind behind the Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam that rocked the state.
Acting on intelligence inputs, officials tracked Shankar to the Nepal-Uttarakhand border, where he was apprehended in a coordinated cross-border operation.
Sources confirm that Shankar was brought to Bhubaneswar via Delhi and is currently being interrogated at the Crime Branch office in Cuttack. His arrest is expected to unravel deeper layers of the recruitment racket, which allegedly involved manipulation of selection processes and financial irregularities.
The scam, which had triggered widespread outrage among aspirants and civil society, is now under intensified scrutiny as investigators probe Shankar’s network and possible political or administrative links.
Authorities have assured that all individuals involved will be brought to justice and that the integrity of future recruitment drives will be safeguarded.
