Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), Sept 23: A police constable has been accused of storming the home of a female nurse and physically assaulting her in the Dasrathpur area of Jajpur district, Odisha. The incident occurred late at night in Mangalpur, where Jitendra Biswal, a constable at the Rambag outpost, allegedly barged into the nurse’s rented accommodation and proposed to her.
When the nurse rejected his advances, Biswal reportedly became furious and assaulted her inside her home. Local residents revealed that the constable, who is from nearby Gadaria village, had been pursuing the nurse for over a year, subjecting her to both physical and mental harassment due to her refusals.
In response to the incident, the constable has been detained at Mangalpur police station, and an investigation is currently underway to address the allegations and ensure justice for the victim.
