Police bust adulterated milk production unit in Jagatpur, Cuttack
Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), Sept 23: The Twin City Commissionerate Police conducted a significant raid on Monday, uncovering a unit allegedly involved in the production of adulterated milk and milk products in the Jagatpur area, located on the outskirts of Cuttack, Odisha. The operation took place at a facility in Atada, which was reported to be operating illegally based on complaints from local residents.
Upon inspection, police discovered that the manufacturing process was not only unhygienic but also lacked essential safety measures. Notably, the unit did not have a valid license, and there was no qualified chemist present. Additionally, the facility was found to be bypassing the critical pasteurization process, raising serious health concerns.
In response to these findings, the police registered a case and detained two individuals associated with the operation. The authorities emphasized the importance of food safety regulations and are taking steps to ensure such illegal activities are addressed swiftly to protect public health.
