PM Modi Unveils Rs 50,000 Crore Development Drive in Jharsuguda, Boosts Telecom, Rail, and Youth Empowerment
Jharsuguda — Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a transformative Rs 50,000 crore development initiative during the ‘Namo Yuva Samabesh’ event in Jharsuguda, marking a major push toward infrastructure expansion and digital empowerment across India.
The centrepiece of the announcement was the commissioning of over 97,500 indigenous telecom towers, aimed at improving mobile and internet connectivity in remote, border, and Maoist-affected regions.
These towers will connect more than 26,700 villages and benefit over 20 lakh new subscribers, enhancing access to education, healthcare, and e-governance services.
In addition to telecom, PM Modi flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express, inaugurated the Sambalpur City flyover, and laid the foundation stone for a semiconductor and ESDM park in Bhubaneswar.
The expansion of eight IITs and the launch of a National Skill Development Programme further underscore the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and innovation.
This mega initiative is expected to catalyse socio-economic growth, especially in underserved regions, and reinforce India’s journey toward becoming a digitally empowered society.
