Puri, ( OT Webdesk): In a landmark effort to revolutionise Indian agriculture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan virtually from Puri, Odisha, on May 29, 2025.

This ambitious campaign will drive innovation, strengthen grassroots agricultural development, and empower farmers nationwide. Running until June 12, the initiative aims to bring central agricultural schemes directly to cultivators.

The launch event in Puri will be attended by eminent leaders, including Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, alongside other dignitaries.

Highlights of the day’s activities include a visit to the Shri Jagannath Temple, the Triranga Yatra, and the flagging off of the Krishi Ratha at Birgobindapur Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

Additionally, programs at CIFA (Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture), the Mango Festival at the Central Horticultural Experiment Station, and an initiative led by the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) will further promote agricultural innovation and sustainability.

The campaign also incorporates an environmental focus through the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” tree-planting initiative.

Preparations are in full swing, as confirmed in a recent meeting at Krushi Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and attended by key officials.

With extensive participation from farmers, students, and agricultural experts, the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is set to be a transformative movement, ushering in a new era of prosperity for Indian farmers.
