Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), May 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to commence a two-day visit to Odisha starting from May 19, initiating the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) campaign for the third-round elections from Puri.
According to state BJP chief Manmohan Samal, Modi will arrive in Bhubaneswar at 7 pm, where he will conduct a comprehensive review meeting with party members at the state BJP office. The following morning, he will proceed to Puri to seek blessings from Lord Jagannath before conducting a roadshow in the city.
Subsequently, the Prime Minister will travel to Angul and participate in an election rally in Cuttack, as outlined by Samal.
Earlier, BJP MP candidate for Puri, Sambit Patra, had conveyed that Modi chose to organize a roadshow in Puri due to his special affinity for its residents. “He will arrive in Puri around 7 am, visit the Jagannath Temple to offer prayers to the deities, and then commence the roadshow,” Patra mentioned.
Voting in Puri, Cuttack, and Angul, falling under the Dhenkanal LS seat, is scheduled for May 25. This marks the Prime Minister’s third visit to Odisha in a span of two weeks. Previously, on May 10, Modi conducted a 2.5-km roadshow in Bhubaneswar and addressed three ‘Vijay Sankalp Yatra’ rallies in Kandhamal, Balangir, and Bargarh on May 11.
