PM Modi Releases 21st PM Kisan Tranche: Odisha Farmers Receive Rs 2,000 Boost

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the 21st instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, releasing over Rs 18,000 crore to benefit more than 9 crore farmers nationwide.

In Odisha, over 34.12 lakh farmers will each receive Rs 2,000, marking a significant step toward agricultural welfare and empowerment.

At a state-level event in Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible farmer receives full benefits without exclusion.

He highlighted how PM Kisan, combined with Odisha’s CM Kisan Yojana, provides farmers with Rs 10,000 annually—supporting seed, fertiliser, and pesticide purchases while driving crop diversification and income growth.

This financial year, 51.54 lakh farmers in Odisha have already received Rs 2,991 crore under CM Kisan Yojana, including support for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) farmers and sharecroppers.

Additionally, the Krishi Vidya Nidhi Yojana has awarded scholarships worth Rs 53.67 crore to 13,923 students, a fivefold increase from the previous year.

Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo noted that the combined support, if used wisely, can help eliminate poverty and strengthen agricultural success.

Farmers from Khordha district shared success stories of using PM Kisan funds effectively, underscoring the scheme’s impact on grassroots livelihoods.

The event also saw Odisha districts Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Sundargarh, and Nuapada selected under the PM Dhan Dhanya Krushi Yojana, aimed at enhancing productivity.

With central and state governments working in tandem, Odisha’s farmer welfare initiatives are being recognised as a model for others across India.
